Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos

Original Tacos
I highly recommend making these for two reasons. The first being they are so easy to make since the recipe only requires chicken, garlic, diced green chilies, onion, salsa, and ground cumin to sit in the slow cooker on low for 8 hours, and second reason is they are delicious. The chicken is so tender and shreds so easily into smaller pieces, and the juices from the salsa are absorbed into the meat so it's juicy. The only problem is that the juices made my tortilla fall apart, so I would recommend draining the meat a little bit before setting it on the tortilla. I served mine with cheese, sour cream, and lettuce. I didn't use tomatoes because there is salsa already mixed in with the meat. I will make this recipe again because it's easy to make and you can leave the house for the day while it cooks. The original recipe can be found here.

Turquoise Necklace from Fossil

Original Necklace
I absolutely love Fossil products, and I should admit I do work part-time there currently (who could resist such a great discount). When this necklace came in a few months back you could say it was love at first sight for me. I had been wanting a large statement necklace for quite some time and this was perfect because the color scheme already went with my personal style. This is the first outfit that I wore with the necklace. I know it's hard to tell, but I'm wearing a gray blouse from LA Made, a cream tank top, and dark skinny jeans with gray wedges. I think this necklace is very versatile, even though it is a statement piece. I plan on pairing with plain white tees, dresses, and much more in the future. You can find this necklace at a Fossil store, Macy's, Herberger's, and online here.

Banana Cupcakes with Butter Cream Cheese Frosting

Original Cupcake
Okay, I will be the first to admit that my cupcake is obviously a lot less prettier than the original, however, I would like to think it tasted just as good (maybe even better). There were a few things that I changed to save me money and time. Instead of making the cupcakes from scratch like the original recipe calls for I instead used a box mix from Betty Crocker. Also, I couldn't find any Dulce de Leche candies at my grocery store, so I opted to melt small caramel candies and drizzle it over the cupcakes. In theory I thought this idea was a great alternative, however, I didn't really think it through and the caramel hardened quite a bit. Although, the caramel still tasted quite good, it was hard to eat and came off in chunks so you didn't exactly look graceful while eating it. If I were to make this recipe again, I would find Dulce de Leche candies, and use a frosting utensil so the cupcakes look prettier. However, I think my use of the box mix for the banana cupcake was a good idea because it saved me time and was less expensive. The original recipe can be found here.

Owl Mug

Original Mug
I actually have two of these mugs because my obsession with owls is known to almost everyone in my life so therefore there is almost a 100 percent chance that I will get something "owlish" for my birthday, Christmas, graduation, ect. You can just about imagine what my house looks like...owls are everywhere. Hopefully I don't grow out of it anytime soon or it will be quite spendy to redecorate, but let's get back to this great mug. It reminds me of my grandma because she always had these old, large mugs around the house. This mug is not only great because it's in the shape of an owl but because of its size. This bad boy will get you through and beyond a night of studying, reflecting on your life, blogging, or whatever else keeps you up at night. A good three cups of caffeine can fit into that so here's tip..make sure your coffee is HOT before you pour it into the mug for two reasons 1.the mug is so big that it will take you awhile to drink it and nobody likes luke warm coffee and 2. when you try to microwave this mug the outside gets very hot while the inside stays about the stay. This mug is from Pier One and you can see it here!

Fossil Boyfriend Watch

Pinterest original
Okay, I have to admit two things. The first is that I work at Fossil part-time and the second is that I owned this watch before I came across it on Pinterest. But just look it. It's sooo BEAUTIFUL! This watch is great because it is a classic watch that will go with just about anything. I wear a watch every single day, and this is one my favorites that I own because it's great to wear alone like above or you can layer it with bracelets, which I usually do. Beware though, this watch flies off the shelves! If you want to check out this watch's info click here!

Game Day Chili

Pinterest Chili
This is my own chili. In the original recipe it called for ground chuck, which I substituted with ground beef. However, you could use turkey or chicken for a healthier option. Instead of browning the beef in the large pot I cooked it in a separate pan because I thought that it would take too long to cook the meat in the pot (there was 2 lbs of it!). Next time I make this I will make sure to cook the vegetables in a separate pan as well because they were still a little hard. Overall, this chili is perfect for me because it was thick and not too spicy, but still had a little kick to it. Click here for the original recipe.
